bio
Jessica is a Registered Social Worker with a BA, BSW, and MSW, registered to practice in Ontario, New Brunswick, and her home province of Newfoundland and Labrador. She has supported individuals and families across the lifespan for over 15 years and is passionate about helping people navigate difficult experiences while building lives that feel meaningful, connected, and worth living.
Jessica is committed to providing evidence-based care. She specializes in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and provides comprehensive DBT to adults and adolescents, including individual therapy, parent coaching, support for individuals and families navigating Borderline Personality Disorder, and 24-week Comprehensive DBT Skills Groups. She also provides DBT training and consultation to clinicians and organizations.
For individuals who have experienced trauma, Jessica provides treatment using Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She also works with individuals and couples experiencing relationship challenges, including affair recovery, sexual concerns, and difficulties with intimacy and connection. She values creating a space where clients can explore these often-sensitive areas with openness, curiosity, and without judgment.
Jessica is also privileged to support Canadian First Responders, providing specialized training and interventions tailored to the unique experiences and needs of this community.
Prior to entering private practice, Jessica developed and implemented programming and provided clinical leadership for a comprehensive DBT program within Newfoundland and Labrador’s largest health authority. Her career has also allowed her to spend several years living in and supporting remote Indigenous communities, including working with individuals and families from Innu and Inuit communities. These experiences have shaped her commitment to evidence-based practice, the social work value of meeting clients where they are, thoughtful clinical care, and helping clients access meaningful and effective support.
Jessica approaches her work through an intersectional, trauma-informed, and culturally safe lens. She believes that therapy is most effective when clients feel respected, understood, and genuinely supported through a safe and genuine connection with another person. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that through balancing acceptance and change, we can all experience more fulfilling and meaningful lives.
